It
could have been avoided.
I
saw it coming,
But
I walked right into a wall of sin.
I
then made some choices
That
I’m now regretting,
Tied
myself to the tracks again.
Blessed
Father,
I
pray you hear me.
I’ve
gone and I’ve slipped up again.
I
swear I knew better
Before
I did it,
Then
I skipped down the wrong path instead.
When
I will destiny
To
bend to some selfish need,
My
own mind shall I soon despise.
For
when the will of God I discard,
Not
even a library card can
Make
me like Solomon the Wise.
The
artful dodger,
Displaying
a talent
For
outsmarting himself,
Soon
seeks the Father’s
Storehouse
of Grace
And
it’s endless wealth.
Hallelujah!
Glorious
knowledge and
Treacherous
folly
War
for control over this
Weak
willed man.
My
willing submission
Secures
my intention
And
determines in which camp I stand.
Blessed
Father,
I
pray you hear me.
I’m
blessed by your mercy again.
Your
forgiveness is boundless,
And
I don’t deserve any, but
Each
morning your mercies renew.
Amen.
